A Message from Our President
JOYCE WILLIS, Chapter President
Delta Chi Chi, a Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc.
Welcome to the site of Delta Chi Chi a Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated.
I became a member of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority in 1995 to build connections with fellow professionals in the nursing field. This organization provided opportunities for meaningful dialogue about the disparities affecting the African American population. Through collaboration, I was able to participate in projects aimed at advancing the nursing profession and improving patient care on a larger scale.
One of my primary objectives for the Delta Chi Chi Chapter is to enhance our chapter’s involvement in community service events. By educating the community about current health disparities and offering relevant services, we have the potential to make a significant impact on health outcomes.
Another important goal for the chapter is to provide funding to support the education of future nursing students. By investing in nursing education, we ensure that upcoming nurses are well-equipped with the knowledge needed to continue serving humanity through education and service to the community.
Joining Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority offered me the mentorship essential for my growth as a leader in oncology nursing. The guidance and support from the sorority’s leadership inspired me to pursue and achieve certifications in clinical research and oncology. As a result, I was able to serve as a nurse manager in the field for 25 years.
Some of my favorite traditions with my sorority sisters is the bonding time we have while driving or flying to conferences or providing blood pressure screening and education to the community. The feeling of pride and accomplishment I feel seeing how far Delta Chi Chi has grown over years is overwhelming. I’m excited and look forward to this next chapter for Delta Chi Chi.
